Reference local business windows in UTC
The clock shows current UTC time and converts an illustrative 08:00–17:00 local business window for Sydney, Tokyo, London and New York. IANA timezone rules in your browser account for seasonal clock changes. These are reference windows for comparing regions, not official exchange hours or guaranteed broker trading sessions.
Why daylight saving changes the UTC window
London, New York and Sydney do not change their clocks on the same dates. Tokyo does not use the same seasonal pattern. The overlap between reference windows can therefore change during parts of the year. A fixed UTC table cannot describe every date, so the tool calculates the conversion for the current date.
Interpret open and closed status
The displayed status indicates whether the current time falls within the local reference window on a weekday in that location. It does not check public holidays, maintenance or instrument-specific sessions. A holiday can close a venue even while the reference window is shown as open.
Use platform schedules for operational decisions
For an actual symbol, use the broker’s configured quote and trade sessions and any applicable venue calendar. A geographical session clock cannot establish whether an order will be accepted. Data monitoring should use those instrument schedules when distinguishing a quiet session from a stalled feed.
